Samuel L. Jackson Getting Slammed for Percieved Homophobic Trump Joke

Samuel L. Jackson

*Samuel L. Jackson, who’s co-starring in “The Incredibles 2,” opening this weekend, finds himself a target of the Twitterverse after it perceived he was making anti-gay slurs when he wished President Trump a facetious happy birthday on Friday.

Here’s the tweet that got Jackson in trouble:

“Must have been a party at The White House, Mitch, Paul, Rudy & others were spotted wearing knee pads & carrying these lined up outside. Happy Birthday.”

The tweet included an image of a product called “After Dick Mints” with the tagline “Going down?”

This Twitter user reacted this way:

“Did you and Joy Reid get hacked by the same person?” Just in case you’re wondering what’s up with that, the reference is to the MSNBC host who had several homophobic posts on her blog, but claimed she was hacked.

“White guy gets fired from his job for anti-Trump cartoon but this is okay? Capital One should fire him for this,” wrote another. The tweet was in reference to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette firing its political cartoonist Rob Rogers after being repeatedly blocked for drawing cartoons criticizing Trump and his policies.

“Comedy 101: A joke should be funny. You might want to keep that in mind when choosing movie scripts too,” another Twitter user wrote.

Actor Adam Baldwin of the late, lamented TV show Firefly asked, “Gay shaming?” He later removed the tweet, reports Deadline.

Another user brought Capital One into the mix, asking the credit card company whether they endorse the language from a spokesperson.

“[Capital One] time to pull your commercials with this homophobe,” someone else tweeted.
