*As Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader was giving up a three-run home run in the eighth inning of Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game, Twitter was just getting started in pulling up old tweets that exposed him as straight-up racist, misogynistic and homophobic.
As Hader was on the mound at Nationals Park in D.C., his past tweets began circulating on social media, showing Hader’s multiple uses of the N-word, rampant misogyny, the phrase “gay people freak me out” because of a pony shirt, and much worse.

Hader left the game after Seattle Mariners shortstop Jean Segura hit one of his pitches out of the ballpark, but not before word of his tweets had moved quickly through Nationals Park, including the dugouts…because MLB allows players in the All-Star Game to keep their phones and tweet while playing.

By game’s end, some fans who came to the game wearing Hader jerseys and sherseys had turned them inside out – including his own family members.
Some members of Josh Hader’s family, wearing his All-Star replica jersey, have taken them off and been given generic jerseys without his name on the back.

Josh Hader’s family and friends are milling outside the NL clubhouse, having taken off or reversed jerseys with “Hader” across the back.

One person wearing a Josh Hader shirsey just took it off, turned it inside out and put it back on.

Hader eventually faced the media and apologized for being “young and stupid,” and adding that his attitude back then “doesn’t reflect on who I am as a person today.”
