Omarosa Manigault Newman Admits: ‘I Came Up Short’ for the Black Community [VIDEO]

*Omarosa Manigault Newman admits that she “came up short” for the black community during her 11-month tenure at the White House, Newsweek reports.

Standing next to Donald Trump and supporting his divisive agenda certainly made her unpopular with African-Americans who see her as a sellout. And many have not an ounce of sympathy for her decision to call him a racist as she sells her new book — and in turn, his calling her a “dog.”

“Her tell-all mea culpa won’t win her any brownie points with most blacks,” said Earl Ofari Hutchinson, author of the book “Why Black Lives Do Matter.” ”Their loathing of Omarosa is virtually frozen in stone. She’s still roundly lambasted as a two-bit opportunist, a racial sellout and an ego driven hustler.”

In her new book “Unhinged,” Manigault Newman recounts her time in Trump’s White House and paints a damning picture of 45, claiming that tapes exist of him using the N-word as he filmed “The Apprentice.”

On Tuesday she echoed her claims, telling The Associated Press that the president is “a racist, a misogynist, a bigot.”

“I want to see this nation united as opposed to divided,” she said. “I don’t want to see a race war, as Donald Trump does.”

In the book, Manigault Newman suggests she joined Trump’s campaign after an arrangement to join Democrat Hillary Clinton’s campaign fell through. When asked by Grio reporter Natasha Alford what—if anything—did she accomplish for the black community when she worked for the Trump administration, Omarosa replied: “In some ways, I came up short.”

Adding, “A lot of that was the animosity toward Donald Trump. People just generally were devastated that this racist was going to run our country. So no matter what efforts I put out, people didn’t want to see that type of residual outreach.”

She also writes in her book that Trump and his campaign were “eager for my help” and she wanted to experience working on a campaign at a “high level.” And, “since Trump had little chance of winning, it would be ‘no harm, no foul’ for me to have worked with the campaign for however long it lasted.”

Omarosa now says he “used” her, calling him a “con” who “has been masquerading as someone who is actually open to engaging with diverse communities” but is “truly a racist.”

And when it comes to her #TrumpTapes, Black Republican Raynard Jackson had this to say about ’em:

“There is absolutely no way she can redeem herself. Who is going to trust her ever again? Recording someone under these circumstances is the political equivalent of spitting on a man.”

Conservative commentator Armstrong Williams, who has known Manigault Newman since she was 19 and claims will always consider her a friend, noted that “Omarosa can’t be trusted,” he said. “There’s an issue when you can’t be trusted and can’t be loyal.”
