*Tadow singer, Masego, debuted his new album last week at an intimate listening party in Los Angeles.
The party was held at a gallery in West Hollywood and was filled with fans and celebrities who came out to show their support and get a first listen to his debut album Lady Lady.
Masego definitely sets himself apart from other artist like Tory Lanes and Eric Bellinger who both use the term “trap” to describe their R&B and hip hop singing style.
But Masego has created his own lane with what he calls “trap house jazz” with the use of instruments you would normally hear in a jazz arrangement hence that is why he calls his music “trap house jazz.”
There is a sensual and relaxing yet hood vibe to this album, not many artists can pull off the perfect blend of so many elements in a song. From singing, to the rap/ trap vibe followed by a saxophone and hi-hats, this is the perfect album to ride and chill to.
Masego definitely set the mood at the listening party by providing his guests with complementary massages and manicures as they chilled and enjoyed his smooth melodic voice over the jazz induced tracks. Guest also enjoyed an open bar with drinks inspired by songs from the album such as the “Lady Lady” and “Lavish Lullaby.”
Singer Kehlani was spotted at the party, the “Sweet Sexy Savage” singer was completely feeling the vibe of Masego’s album. Later during the night, the two of them were seen talking. One can only hope the two of them were chatting about a collaboration. Can you imagine those two voices on one track? That would take us back to the days of Teena Marie and Rick James or Lauryn Hill and D’Angelo.
