“This season, all league and team personnel shall stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem. Personnel who choose not to stand for the anthem may stay in the locker room until after the anthem has been performed. We believe today’s decision will keep our focus on the game and the extraordinary athletes who play it — and on our fans who enjoy it.” — NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
“Forced patriotism is not true patriotism. The NFL owners and Commissioner Goodell are essentially spitting in the face of its black players and those that care about the unjust police murders of black and brown people, racial profiling, police abuse, and the violation of our civil rights that Colin Kaepernick put into the national spotlight.

“Our call for an NFL boycott was made because of NFL owners and its Goodell attempt to continue to silence NFL players who are practicing their first amendment rights. These NFL players have a right to use their platform to speak and protest the injustices and police killings committed against people of color. That’s what this new National Anthem policy and ban is about. That’s what it has always been about.
“Kaepernick exposed the lies and hypocrisy of the NFL and some Americans who believe in free speech but only for white men. “ – Najee Ali director of Project Islamic HOPE
