There’s a new king in hip hop.
Jay Z has dethroned Sean “Diddy” Combs as the world’s richest hip-hop act, according to the latest list from Forbes.
Combs has maintained a death grip on the top spot for years, due in part to his vodka line Ciroc.
But Jay Z takes his spot with an estimated worth of $900 million, thanks to his alcohol brands Armand de Brignac and D’Ussé, as well as investments in streaming service Tidal and his Roc Nation label.
Diddy falls to second place with $825 million, followed by Dr. Dre at No. 3 with $770 million, Drake and Eminem tied for fourth with $100 million apiece.
Meanwhile, Jay Z’s wife, Beyoncé, holds the title of highest-paid woman in music.
