*Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West celebrated the birth of their newborn daughter Chicago West with a night out at the movies, according to reports.
And while the identity of the surrogate who carried their child remains concealed, the money that she was paid to do so has been revealed.
Kim previously opened up about using a surrogate (see clip above) because, as noted by ET, the reality TV star had “difficult, high-risk pregnancies with both her daughter North, now 4, and son Saint, now 2.”
“She suffered from early-onset preeclampsia with North and had to deliver almost six weeks early in 2013. Two years later, she again had complications during labor with Saint, suffering from placenta accreta, where the placenta remains attached to the wall of the uterus. The latter condition occurred during both deliveries.”
According to Radar Online, Kim and Kanye paid their surrogate $69,000 to carry and deliver Chicago West. Other expenses that they covered include “medical expenses, fees, costs and services relating to the pregnancy and the birth of the child.”
Add in insurance, lawyer, maternity wear and monthly allowance fees and the couple allegedly ended up paying well into the hundred thousand’s.
The surrogate is a 20-something stay at home mother of two that is married. Kim decided to use a surrogate for medical reasons — claiming she could die if she attempted to carry another child.
In recent seasons of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Kim shared her concerns with using a surrogate but wanted to give her two oldest children another sibling.
Do you think the amount Kim and Kanye paid to their surrogate is reasonable?
