*Two days before he was scheduled to headline the fifth annual FORM Arcosanti Festival, Chance the Rapper on Wednesday announced he was pulling out of the gig due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts.” Meanwhile, the rapper has signed on to voice a character in DreamWorks Animation’s “Trolls 2,” joining Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake and fellow new addition Sam Rockwell.
Rockwell and Chance will also be recording songs that will be included on the movie’s soundtrack, according to Variety.
As for the Chicago rapper’s departure from Arizona’s FORM Acrosanti Festival, organizers stated: “Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, Chance the Rapper is unable to perform. While we are disappointed Chance won’t be with us, we are excited to contribute to his philanthropic initiative SocialWorks and look forward to the next opportunity to support each other’s missions through music. In the meantime, we’re thrilled to announce that Flying Lotus’ mind-blowing 3D live show has been added to headline the Amphitheater on Friday night.”
“This started with a relatively small group of artists, friends and family,” added festival co-organizer Alex Hoffman. “Having collaborated with Chance in the past, we were excited to share what we’ve been up to out here the past few years and support each other’s causes. While we’re bummed he’s no longer making it, we know this weekend is greater than any single performance, panel, or person.”
