*A rep for Bill Cosby has thanked fans for their prayers and support following the death of his daughter in Massachusetts.
Ensa Cosby, 44, lost her battle with renal disease, a chronic kidney condition.
“The Cosby Family thanks many people for their prayers for their beloved and beautiful Ensa, who recently died from renal disease,” Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt shared in a short statement.
Ensa’s death comes more than 20 years after her brother Ennis was murdered at age 27 during a failed robbery attempt in 1997.
Ensa had supported her father throughout his legal troubles, and during his court battle with alleged rape victim Andrea Constand last year, she insisted her father was innocent, despite facing a multitude of other allegations of sexual misconduct.
He has denied all claims of non-consensual sex, and is due for a retrial in the Constand case later this year.
