*Not only do they call him Big Poppa, but soon the late Christopher Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, aka The Notorious B.I.G., will have a New York City street named after him.

Yep, Biggie is getting the honor all because the NYC City Council voted unanimously at its last meeting of the year to honor Wallace and 2 other music greats (Wu-Tang Clan, Woody Guthrie) with streets named for them in the boroughs they called home.

Wallace/Biggie/Notorious B.I.G. will be honored with the naming of Christopher Wallace Way, located on St. James Place between Fulton Street and Gates Avenue in Brooklyn, the block where the late rapper grew up, according to a report in the Gothamist.

As far as the Wu-Tang Clan is concerned, their district/street locale will be situated in Staten Island at the intersection of Vanderbilt Avenue and Targee Street in honor of the influential hip-hop group.

Meanwhile, folk singer Woody Guthrie, like Biggie, was also a Brooklyn native and likewise will celebrated in his home borough. He’s getting a section of Mermaid Avenue between West 35th and 36th streets in Coney Island. It’ll be dubbed “Woody Guthrie Way.”

OK, having said the foregoing, the street names were among many to be approved by the NYC City Council. However, what’s needed now to make it a reality is Mayor Bill De Blasio’s signature.
