*Tiffany Haddish’s ex-husband is pushing back against her claims of abuse during their marriage, saying she requested that he get “aggressive” with her during sex, and even asked him to choke her, reports The Blast.

Earlier this year, Haddish was sued by her ex, William Stewart, over her memoir, “The Last Black Unicorn.” In a chapter titled “The Ex-Husband,” Stewart was described as abusive and a stalker during their five-year marriage, though she never mentioned him by name.

Stewart filed a lawsuit alleging defamation, libel and slander against Haddish and Simon & Schuster, the book’s publisher, seeking in excess of $1 million in damages. Haddish has denied his claims.

According to newly-released court documents obtained by The Blast, Stewart’s lawyers revealed intimate details about their sex life in an effort to refute her abuse claims. His legal team had initially sent several letters to Haddish and Simon & Schuster in attempts to reach a settlement prior to filing the lawsuit. The Blast reports that Stewart says he reached out to Haddish personally in an effort to resolve the “harmful and defamatory assertions,” but claims Haddish was unclear in her response, saying, “Be patient your blessings are coming” and “Start to think positive so positive things can come your way. Because your blessings are waiting on you.”

Haddish claimed she had a Temporary Restraining Order against Stewart during their marriage, but he alleges the TRO was dropped after “Ms. Haddish recanted the allegations in the TRO and pled with law enforcement to dismiss the TRO because it was untrue. In fact, she confessed to attacking Mr. Stewart.”

Stewart also claims Haddish gave an interview with comedian Dom Irrera in 2012 where she unequivocally says Stewart never beat her. He claims Haddish made a joke that “he never beat me up, he just choked me a little bit” and that choking was often a punchline in her comedy.

Then, according to The Blast, the lawyers dropped this bombshell:

Furthermore, we have information that will demonstrate Ms. Haddish regularly requested Mr. Stewart to become more aggressive with her during sex, including, among other things, to choke her as a part of their sexual intercourse.

Stewart also claims he has audio recordings of Haddish “seeking the guidance of a psychic to help with her erratic and violent tendencies towards Mr. Stewart, not vice versa.”

The letter concludes by saying:

Mr. Stewart did not commit criminal domestic violence, nor did he abuse Tiffany Haddish during their marriage. He did not abandon his daughter. These assertions can never be unsaid and Mr. Stewart’s reputation has been irreparably damaged.

The case is ongoing.
