Reid and Brunson, will play the older and younger versions of Darryl (series regular Jaleel White) respectively. Smart and savvy, Older Darryl (Reid) has remained the best friend and confidant of Alex Riley for almost 50 years. Confident and practical, Younger Darryl (Brunson) quickly becomes Alex’s best friend and collaborator on his inventions.
Emmy®-nominated actor, director and producer, Tim Reid, has appeared on television for over three decades, from Venus Flytrap on WKRP in Cincinnati through Simon & Simon, Frank’s Place, Sister, Sister,That ‘70s Show and most recently, Treme and Greenleaf. He has received numerous honorary degrees and has been inducted into the National Black College Hall of Fame. Reid is represented by Sandy Joseph at SLJ Management and Bobby Moses at Mavrick.
Represented by APA, Brevard Talent Group and Reel Talent, Alkoya Brunson’s television credits include a recurring role on The Originals, co-starring on Constantine, and a lead role in the BET movie Let The Church Say Amen, directed by Regina King. Feature credits include supporting roles in Hidden Figures, Birth of a Nation, Tammy and Vacation.
