Loni Says It Will Take a Village To Stop Bullying

Loni Love: My concern is that we have all these celebrities and he’s getting all of this attention right now.  But what’s going to happen…

Adrienne Houghton: When he does…

Loni: After the attention goes away and it’s still going to affect him.

Adrienne: Yeah.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: Uh huh.

Loni: So, it’s like it’s nice right now that everybody’s here but in three days it’ll be forgotten.

Jeannie Mai: Yeah.

Loni: And so, there really needs to be some policies put in place by schools, and parents need to work together to um… I don’t know maybe there’s some courses that people can take…

Adrienne: Yeah.

Tamera: I don’t…

Loni: That they can teach the students. Ya know, there was hall monitoring. Back in the day if I had a problem my momma would go up to the school. Okay?

[The Real audience applauds]

Adrienne: But that’s the question is…

Loni: You know what I am saying. But…

Adrienne: Maybe these kids that are bullying other kids you have to ask yourself…

Tamera: It’s true.

Adrienne: For the kids that are being the bullies, what are they being taught at home.

Tamera: Uh huh.

Adrienne: You have to wonder do they have parents that are involved in their lives what is their parents influences on them? Do they have nice parents?

Loni: Yeah. Well that’s the…

Adrienne: It’s real.

Loni: And, and also. I have to go back, hey back in the day when it was a…a village. You know. I would go in my neighborhood.

Adrienne: Yep. It takes a village.

[The Real audience applauds]

Loni: And if I did something wrong, they was like, “You know I’m telling yo momma.”

Adrienne: Yes.

Loni: You know what I am saying. It wasn’t about beating or spanking or whatever. It was about a point of respect.

Tamera: Yep.

Loni: And we’re losing, our kids are losing a sense of respect now-a-days. And we need to bring that back.

Tamera: For each other. Yep. For the parents.

[The Real Audience applauds]

Loni: You know. For the parents, for older people, everybody. That’s, that’s what we have to start teaching.
