*The man arrested in connection with the shooting of rapper Young Dolph has been released from custody without charges, said a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Corey McClendon, 43, was arrested Wednesday for attempted murder and had been held on $1 million bail in connection with the incident Tuesday near the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Ave. earlier this week.

Young Dolph, whose real name is Adolph Thornton Jr., was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot in the valet parking area of Loews Hollywood Hotel.

McClendon, who like Young Dolph is a resident of Memphis, is an associate of rapper Yo Gotti, a rival rapper to Young Dolph who was mistakenly reported to be a person of interest in the case.

The district attorney’s office has asked for further investigation into the shooting, the spokesman added.
