*Stevie Wonder ‘s 21st Annual House Full of Toys benefit concert took place last night at Staples Center with performances from Common, Andra Day, Tony Bennett ,Savion Glover, Dave Matthews, Rickey Minor and Pharrell who performed his hit song “Happy” but, not before singing “Golden Lady” as a duet with Stevie.
KJLH’s choir kicked off the night performing “Looking For You” by Kirk Franklin followed by a duet of “For Once in My Lifetime” with Tony Bennett and Stevie Wonder who serenaded the crowd with an iconic harmonica performance solo, that electrified the crowd.
Common and Andra Day shared the stage to perform their duet “Stand for Something” and both were brought out later to perform with Stevie. Andra performed “All in Love is Fair” while Common assisted Stevie with a selection off his 1973 album “Innervisions.“
Dave Matthews took to the stage along with his spectacular band to perform one of his hit songs “Crush” which received a standing ovation from the crowd.
The entire night was filled with great memories for a great cause and ended on a highlight as Stevie performed some of his hits songs including “Superstition” and “Living for the City.”
Stevie Wonder’s House Full of Toys charity event benefits children, people with disabilities and families in need during the holidays. Attendees dropped off unwrapped toys before entering the venue.
