*Steve Harvey’s Miss Universe fail is no longer the biggest live-TV announcement of the wrong winner after last night’s epic Oscar mixup delivered by Warren Beatty.
Last December, Harvey inadvertently announced the wrong winner of the Miss Universe pageant during a live show in Las Vegas. So naturally, he would reach out to Beatty after the veteran actor was given the wrong card to announce for best picture, which ultimately went to “Moonlight.”
“Call me Warren Beatty. I can help you get through this! #Oscars,” Harvey tweeted this morning…after first making a joke.
Good morning everybody! Went to sleep early last night. So… what I miss? #Oscars

After mis-announcing “La La Land” as the winner of best picture, Beatty took the microphone at one point to explain the error, much like Harvey, who to his credit said after his mistake (when he simply announced the wrong winner): “Folks let me take control of this,” Harvey said onstage, showing the correct winner on his card…a moment mocked in one of the numerous memes birthed from Oscar’s mixup:
