*Sheree Whitfield is one of six former Bravo “Housewives” to sign on for a new series called “Altered Reality,” reports the Daily Mail.
The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” returnee joins Joanna Krupa (Miami), Jill Zarin (New York), Gretchen Rossi (Orange County), Alexis Bellino (Orange County) and Joyce Giraud (Beverly Hills) for the scripted series, which satirizes life on a reality TV show.
Set in Hollywood, the drama follows the six “washed up” stars as they relocate to Los Angeles in a bid to find serious acting work. But when their efforts fall short, all six sign up for a reality show called “The Socialite” and shenanigans ensue.
According to creator Darren Bettencourt, the non-reality star roles, including those of executives on fictional network Yay!, will be played by actors.
The show is set to go into production in the next six months, according to the Daily Mail. A network or premiere date has yet to be announced.
“I think viewers will love this show – it’s really over the top with the cat fights and drama and I am thrilled to be part of the cast,” Orange County’s Rossi, 38, told the outlet. “The script goes all the way with the stereotypes and misconceptions about reality stars, and we really play that up to illustrate the insanity that goes down in the world of realty television.”
