*Sage Steele has been replaced by Michelle Beadle on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown,” and Black Twitter is over the moon about it.

Steele has been with ESPN for a decade, and in recent months she’s been at the center of several controversies regarding her conservative political views, as well as her disdain for black culture. Some refer to her as a “badly aging white woman with a tan.”

Okay, maybe only THIS WRITER refers to her as that, but many would agree with such an observation.

Most recently, Steele found herself in hot water after saying at a conference that the “worst racism that I have received … is from black people.”

In January, she came under fire when she took to Instagram to complain about protesters of Donald Trump’s travel ban, causing her to miss her flights.

Now she has been given the boot at ESPN and will be replaced by white sports host Michelle Beadle.

Ha! The irony!

Peep some of the reactions below on social media about news of her replacement.

ESPN issued a press release that reads:

ESPN today announced that Michelle Beadle has been named the full-time host of NBA Countdown on ABC and ESPN. In this role, Beadle will lead the company’s NBA pre-game and halftime shows, including for the NBA Finals on ABC. She will also host ESPN’s and ABC’s studio coverage throughout the NBA Playoffs, which includes ESPN’s exclusive coverage of the Western Conference Finals.

After ESPN’s announcement came on Tuesday, one Twitter user wrote: ‘Today might be the first day in American history that black people celebrated a black woman losing her job to a white woman.’

Michelle is now the full-time host on “NBA Countdown,” and according to Fox News, Steele is still “very much employed” by ESPN and will lead the network’s “SportsCenter on the Road” initiative. She will have an ‘expanded on-site presence’ at major events like the Super Bowl and World Series for SportsCenter on the Road.

Meanwhile, we wonder if Sage still feels like the worst racism she’s ever experienced came from black people?
