Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks Kick Off ABC’s ‘American Idol’ Auditions in Orlando (Pics)

*”American Idol” winners Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen were in Orlando on Thursday (Aug 17) kicking off auditions for ABC’s first season of “American Idol.”

The trio joined Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Disney Springs in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

As previously reported, ABC is bringing back the former Fox series, which launched the careers of superstars Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Katharine McPhee, Adam Lambert and Chris Daughtry, among many others.

Auditions for the upcoming season also began today in Portland, Oregon. Episodes will begin airing later this year.
