Robert De Niro Snaps At Wife for ‘Spending All My Money’ On Bad Business Decisions

*Actor Robert De Niro is said to be troubled over how his wife is handling her coffee company business… and he’s had to make a slew of bad movies to fix her mess.

De Niro is a major investor in the 5-year-old Grace Hightower & Coffees of Rwanda brand, but Page Six reports that it is turning into a money pit. Hightower has frustrated the legendary actor and business associates by “changing her mind about how to run the business depending on who she spoke to last.”

A source tells Page Six that, in a moment of frustration, De Niro snapped while bickering with Hightower in public at a Manhattan bar, telling her, “I wouldn’t have to keep making s - - tty movies if you didn’t spend all my money!”

Some of the titles he may be referring to: “Dirty Grandpa,” “Grudge Match” and “The Intern.”

Meanwhile, defenders of Hightower point to a slew of establishments that carry her coffee, including the Ace Hotel, the Breslin, Salvation Burger, Salvation Taco, White Gold, the Williamsburg Hotel and De Niro’s chain of hotels and restaurants, including the Greenwich Hotel and the Nobu.

“The idea is to create a long-term business which gives back to the farmers,” Grace said of her brand, which sources its fair trade beans in Rwanda. The company recently parted ways with its biggest distributor, Whole Foods.

Hightower and De Niro have two children, Elliott, who was born in 1997; and Helen Grace, who was born via surrogate in 2011. She and the award-winning performer met a decade before they wed. In a 2013 New York Times profile, she said that she met De Niro in London at the restaurant Mr. Chow, where she was working as a hostess, in 1987, per heavy.com.

“It was an ease-in. It wasn’t a whirlwind,” the 61-year-old Hightower told the Times.
