*Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” made a killing at last night’s 27th annual IFP Gotham Awards in New York, earning trophies for Best Director and Screenplay as well as the Audience Award.
Donald Glover’s FX series “Atlanta” continues to collect hardware, earning the Gotham for Breakthrough Series – Long Form, while the cast of Dee Rees’ “Mudbound” took home the Special Jury Award for Ensemble Performance.
Luca Guadagnino’s “Call Me by Your Name” walked away with Best Feature. Other big winners included up-and-coming “Call Me by Your Name” actor Timothée Chalamet, “Lady Bird’ star Saoirse Ronan for Best Actress and James Franco for his role in The Disaster Artist.
In addition to the nominated awards, career tributes went to Jason Blum, Sofia Coppola, Al Gore, Dustin Hoffman, Nicole Kidman and Ed Lachman.As previously reported, Michael Kenneth Williams was honored with the Made in NY Award.
