*Ralph, Pooch, Chubby, Butch and Tiny, better known to the world as The Tavares Brothers were exposed to music at an early age.
Their Musician Father would take them to perform at various Boy’s Clubs and School functions around their hometowns of Providence, Rhode Island and New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Burgeoning Singer/Songwriter John Tavares, encouraged the boys to form a group of their own. Under the name Chubby & The Turnpikes they struck a deal with Capital records and had a couple of local hits.
Tavares Now
In the early 1970’s they switched their name to Tavares and began a reign of chart topping dominance, leaving a lasting legacy on the world with songs like “It Only Takes A Minute,” “She’s Gone,” “Don’t Take Away The Music,” “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” and many more.
For 2016, Butch, Pooch and sixth brother Victor are back as ‘Tavares Now.’ According to brother Butch: “It’s time to make another bid for the title.”
Alongside some young talented songwriters, Butch has written and produced incredible new material with that trademark heartbreaking soulful sound.
Tavares Now is armed with those infectious grooves and memorable hooks, ready to grab the attention of today’s audience, while satisfying their longtime loyal fans.
The first single is the eargasmic ‘Heaven 24/7’ released under Butch’s newly formed “Ear Candy Record Label.
