*For whatever reason, some folks just won’t stop hatin’ on actor Shemar Moore. For years and years he’s been fighting off rumors that he’s an undercover brother a/k/a he’s gay. Or maybe the rumors are being spread because some people like what they see and ant him to be gay, if you get our drift.
Hmm, maybe one of the reasons folks think he’s suspect is because of the pic below that taken earlier this year:
As you can imagine, the reaction was swift and fierce:
“S**t is gay son,” one commenter wrote, while another got more explicit: “Wtf d**k and balls on his neck ? hershey highway action smh just a waist [sic]Â smh.”
But hey, the one time Soul Train host doesn’t let the negative chatter trip him out. Not in the least. Recently he spoke to BET and address the rumors straight up:
“I just think it’s all silly. If you’re gay, you’re gay. I’m not, and I know that, and I’m very comfortable with who I am, and I love women. I’ve dated plenty of them,” said Moore. “If you think I’m gay, send your girlfriend over to my house for the weekend, and see what happens. For real. You can call that arrogant if you want to. I just call it confident. You can call me whatever you want, but you don’t know me.”
He continued:
“I have fans that are gay, men that come up to me, and they’re inspired by me, or they like me as an entertainer, and when they want to give me a hug or take pictures with me, what, am I supposed to not put my arm around them, or stand next to them, and if the man next to me in the picture is gay, that makes me gay? That’s just simpleminded ignorance, and I don’t play that.”
Well there you have it. That should silence any doubters/haters … until they get ready to come at him again. In the meantime, Moore’s new film, “The Bounce Back” is in theaters.
