*Brad William Henke of “Orange is the New Black” has joined Will Smith and Joel Edgerton in the upcoming Netflix original film “Bright.” With its $90 million budget, the David Ayer directed drama is the streaming service’s most expensive film to date.
Noomi Rapace and Lucy Fry also star in the film, which follows a human (Smith), and an orc (Edgerton), who must outrun cops, criminals and an assorted collection of fantastic creatures in order to protect a magical wand.
Henke will play the role of Dorghu, the evil leader of the Fogteeth Orcs gang. Dorghu used to be reasonable, but after seeing how the cops oppress his race, he’s taken to dishing out his own set of punishment.
Written by Max Landis, production on “Bright” is expected to start sometime this fall with Bryan Unkeless and Eric Newman producing, reports Variety.
Henke is currently reprising his role of no-nonsense prison guard Desi Piscatella for the upcoming season of “Orange Is The New Black.” He also recently landed a recurring role on Amazon’s upcoming series “Sneaky Pete.”
His other credits include the feature films “Fury” and “Draft Day” for Lionsgate.
