*A new clip has been released from “Miles Ahead,” the Miles Davis film co-written and directed by actor Don Cheadle, and due in theaters on April 1.
The biopic following a specific period in the famed trumpeter’s life. The clip shows how Davis managed to woo his future wife, dancer Frances Taylor, played by Emayatzy Corinealdi.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati.com is reporting that Sony Pictures Classics plans to premiere the film in in Cincinnati, where it was shot, in a special screening on March 26. The tentative release date is April 22.
Set in New York City, the script, which was co-written by Cheadle, focuses on the end of Davis’ five-year period away from the public eye in 1979 when the innovative musician and a Rolling Stone reporter (Ewan McGregor) work together to recover a stolen recording.
Shot entirely in Greater Cincinnati in summer 2014, the production went to some 25 locations in the area.
Cheadle funded the project through an Indiegogo.com crowdsourced campaign. Sony Classics Pictures picked it up after its world premiere at the 53rd New York Film Festival.
