After this initial tweet about the games, the “Saturday Night Live” and ‘Ghostbusters” star went on to tweet comments and video commentary about pretty much every event that came across her television screen, flooding Twitter with so much written and video commentary that NBC took notice.
The network offered her a ticket to join their coverage in Rio after producer Mike Shoemaker caught wind of her social media activity. He tweeted fellow producer Jim Bell to get the actress on a plane.
