As previously reported, Chadwick Boseman stars as the first black Supreme Court Justice in a story that follows a portion of his life in 1941, when he was a young lawyer.
Sent by the NAACP, Marshall defends a black chauffeur against his wealthy socialite employer in a sensationalized sexual assault and attempted murder trial and partners with a young Jewish lawyer named Samuel Friedman (Josh Gad) to struggle against a segregationist court.
Kate Hudson, Dan Stevens, James Cromwell, Sterling K. Brown and Keesha Sharp round out the cast.
Principal photography is underway in Buffalo, NY toward a release later this year.
