*The filmmaker who sued Beyonce claiming she bit some of her “Lemonade” visuals from his work had his case thrown out of court on Thursday, reports TMZ.
As previously reported, Matthew Fulks filed a lawsuit in June alleging Bey lifted several parts of his 2014 short movie “Palinoia” to use for her “Lemonade” visual album.
He attempted to argue that nine visual similarities seen in HBO’s 60-second “Lemonade” trailer were taken without permission. The visual similarities cited in the complaint were “graffiti and persons with heads down,” “red persons with eyes obscured,” “parking garage,” “stairwell,” “black and white eyes,” “title card screens,” “the grass scene,” “feet on the street,” “side-lit ominous figures,” all adding up to a supposed total concept and feel substantially similar to the short film.
