*He’s now an old white guy from the South so we guess we shouldn’t be too surprised to hear what’s coming out of his mouth.
We’re talking about former NFL great Fran Tarkenton. He says athletes who turn down an invitation to the White House now that Trump will posted up there are “disrespectful” and “stupid.”
OK, we can kind of get where he’s coming from, but then he added: “Nobody boycotted Obama ’cause he’s black, did they?”
Well, we don’t exactly know what Tarkenton in referring to, because President Obama WAS BOYCOTTED. In fact, he was even boycotted by Pittsburgh Steeler’s player James Harrison who happens to BLACK.
It seems to us and anybody with a working brain that there are a gazillion more reasons to boycott Donald Trump besides the fact that he’s white. Wait, now that we think about it, that can’t be the reason because Trump isn’t white. He’s ORANGE! 🙂

Obviously, if you haven’t guessed by now, Tarkenton is a self-described “huge Trump guy.” He was out and about in NYC when TMZ Sports asked him for his thoughts on NBA star Iman Shumpert saying he’d turn down an invite to 1600 Penn. if the Cavs won the championship during Trump’s presidency.
As you can imagine, Tarkenton, who known for his scrambling as a quarterback with the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Giants, Â was pissed at the idea. He says athletes should show the same level of respect to Trump they showed for Obama … despite their personal feelings.
“If a President of the United States, our #1 guy, invites you to the [White House] and you’re gonna boycott it? Because why? It’s stupid.”
“Nobody boycotted Obama because he’s black did they? No. They all went there because he was our president. And you respect our president. No matter whether you’re for him or not.”
