On Thursday, “Extra” had a chit chat with Nick Cannon about his ex-wife Mariah Carey’s recent engagement to billionaire James Packer.
It seems Cannon couldn’t have been happier for her. Here’s what he told “Extra’s” Terri Seymour:
“I think we’re all mature enough and have grown to love each other in so many different ways that you just want to see people that you care about in the happiest situation possible.”
As we reported, in late January, Packer proposed to to Mariah with a 35-carat ring.

Cannon also spoke on how thrilled he was to see “America’s Got Talent” executive producer Simon Cowell join the show as a judge. If you hadn’t heard, Cowell is taking over for Howard Stern. And of course he’s bringing his trademark brutal honesty with him.
“We haven’t had Simon on American television for a minute,” said Cannon. It’s about bringing that vibe that we all missed for the past couple of years.”
