*With “Sons of Anarchy” completing its series run, co-star Theo Rossi has found other employment.
He’s joined the cast of psychological thriller “When The Bough Breaks” opposite Morris Chestnut, Regina Hall, and Jaz Sinclair, which “24‘s” Jon Cassar is directing for Screen Gems.
The film follows a professional couple unable to conceive their own child who hire a blue collar woman to act as their surrogate (Sinclair). Unfortunately for the hopeful parents, she develops a violent fixation on the husband before the baby is even born.
Rossi, who made his mark as SAMCRO’s Juan Carlos ‘Juice’ Ortiz through all seven seasons of “Sons of Anarchy,” will play Mike Mitchell, the surrogate’s fiancé.
This is Rossi’s second post-SOA film after signing on for Universal Pictures and Blumhouse’s Untitled Lowriders Movie, starring Demian Bechir and scripted by Cheo Hodari Coker, Elgin James, Joshua Beirne-Golden and Justin Tipping.
He’s also developing his own TV and film projects with partner Nicholas Carmona. Their Dos Dudes Pictures banner recently completed its first feature Bad Hurt, starring Rossi.
“When The Bough Breaks” starts filming February 2 in New Orleans.
