*SHINE Community Theatre Arts Company in association with We Ain’t Playin’ Productions presents the stage play, “Invisible Dani: No More Secrets,” written, produced and directed by Keyana Ri’chards. “Invisible Dani: No More Secrets” will run this weekend, July 11-12, 2015 at the Pico Playhouse and July 18-19, 2015 at the Meta Theater, for 6 shows.

In the world we live in, sexual abuse plagues the lives of many children, while offenders go free.  While it is comforting to keep the secret of incest and molestation because it hurts too much to deal with or talk about, our children are manipulated and wounded by monsters, because no one is taking an active role to protect their vulnerability.

“Invisible Dani: No More Secrets” is a stage play dedicated to taking a stand against sexual, physical and verbal abuse by boldly addressing the issue.

In the production, Dani (played by Candace Nicholas-Lippman) is an adolescent victim of sexual abuse who finds herself in love with Lewis (played by Rory Darvel), the man who molested her. It all goes undetected because people who were supposed to protect her, like her Aunt Mae (played by La’Keishia Simon) and Mother Tracy (played by Brittney Banks), are too self-absorbed to provide the guidance Dani needs.

This show isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for those who have the courage to face the perils that perversion has inflicted within our community. ‘Invisible Dani: No More Secrets’ sole purpose is to SHINE a light in the dark places in life, which affect our mental health and stability.

‘Invisible Dani: No More Secrets’ will be staged in Los Angeles at the Pico Playhouse (July 11-12, 2015) and Meta Theater (July 18-19, 2015). For more information, contact Keyana Ri’chards via email: [email protected] or (323) 252-5501.
