*Raven Symone has again made comments on “The View” that have riled #BlackTwitter.
The hot topic this morning was “Are you judged by your name?” The co-hosts discussed whether or not they, themselves, judge other people based on ethnic-sounding names.
Symoné said she most certainly does.
When another panelist said this could be considered racist, Symoné said, “Can we take back ‘racist’ and use the word ‘discriminatory,’ because I think that’s a much better word… I’m very discriminatory… “I’m not going to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m just not going to hire you.”
Whoopi Goldberg clutched her proverbial pearls and looked at the audience in befuddlement.

Ladies and gentlemen, #BlackTwitter:
How do you, a Black person w/ an ethnic name, justify proudly endorsing discriminatory hiring practices on a nat’l platform, @ravensymone? — Ron. (@RonnieSnark) October 9, 2015

Raven Symone wouldn’t hire Watermelondrea cause of her name, but would look down on Watermelondrea for not having a job. #RavenSymone #Puta

Raven-Symoné likely forgot that she dealt with racial discrimination in hiring on her own Disney Channel show “That’s So Raven,” which the Internet dug up amid the backlash:
