Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President Earl Ofari Hutchinson and other civil rights leaders on Tuesday, July 14 called for a meeting with Leron Gubler, President and CEO, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to press him to reverse the Chamber’s stance on removing Bill Cosby‘s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Hutchinson quoted this  from the Chamber’s Mission Statement: “The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce states this in its Mission Statement:

“The Mission of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is to promote and enhance the business, cultural and civic well-being of Hollywood.”

“The Chamber with its irresponsible, insensitive dogged, knee jerk commitment to honor Bill Cosby, an admitted illegal drug procurer and sexual abuser of multiple women, with a star,” says Hutchinson, “In effect has grossly violated its own mission statement and objective of creating a wholesome and uplifting image of Hollywood and the entertainment industry for the millions of families that visit Hollywood and the Hollywood Walk of Fame yearly.”
