*A week or so after news surfaced of Greg Anthony’s arrest for soliciting a prostitute, details on the sting operation that netted the basketball analyst/broadcaster and former NBA player are now being revealed.
According to The Washington Post, Anthony’s arrest on Jan 17 resulted after he responded to an ad he saw on backpage.com for an escort. The problem is that it was an undercover officer who posted the ad.
Charging documents for the case reveal the officer arrived at Anthony’s room around 5:45 p.m. and told Anthony that sex would $80. Anthony immediately tried to rebuff such talk and said, “Oh I don’t wanna say all that,” according to the documents, which mentioned the undercover officer responding to Anthony, saying, “I just need to know so I don’t have any surprises.”
After they discussed the type of sex the would engage in, the undercover officer asked, “You want me to dress up?”
“Oh yeah,” Anthony responded. No further details were given in the documents.
Anthony was ultimately arrested at a DoubleTree hotel in Washington, D.C. The former player-turned broadcaster had stayed ahead of a game between Maryland and Michigan State that he was scheduled to broadcast for CBS.
The sting operation apparently came into being in response to complaints of prostitution in the area.
