*Earlier we reported on an article in the January issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. It featured black women in not exactly up to date fashion trends.
People took offense to the story because none of the black women they used were on the good or current end of the spectrum.
Joan Smalls, one of the Black women featured on the bad trend side for wearing black lipstick, didn’t take kindly to the Cosmopolitan piece and said so via Twitter:
Really??? @Cosmopolitan What are you trying to imply…#Tasteless #ThinkbeforeYouPost #Unfollowing
It seems like Joan’s comment and those of other folks, woke Cosmo up.
They offered this apology:
@joansmalls Empowering and supporting all women is our mission, and here, we fell short. We apologize and will do better in the future.
