Company Sues Drake after He Blasts Film about Him on Twitter

Drake performs during the Future Music Festival at Royal Randwick Racecourse on February 28, 2015 in Sydney, Australia.*Drake encouraged his fans NOT to see a movie made about him, “Drake’s Homecoming: The Lost Footage.” Now the company that’s distributing the film is suing the rapper.

TMZ reported Rap-A-Lot Records CEO J. Prince and Jas agreed with Drake; fans should not see the film. Soon after, Specticast filed the lawsuit against him.

Drake blasted the film on Twitter, telling his 21 million followers not to see it in theaters on Thursday, March 19, for that one night only.

It’s “not something OVO or Drake have any part in. I feel it is my responsibility to inform and protect my fans,” he tweeted on Monday.

“James Prince and I stand together on not supporting the Drake Homecoming footage in theaters. #protectingthefans,” Drake tweeted.

Jas soon after retweeted Drake. Sources said Drake made it clear he has no issues with the Prince family. Although Jas sued Cash Money Records over claims of being owed millions for discovering the rapper.

Specticast claims Drake tweeted negatively about the film to draw attention to his Twitter page. Shortly after, he tweeted about ticket sales for his OVO Fest this summer.
