*Chris Brown is denying reports that he refused to perform at a mostly-female event during Atlanta’s Black Gay Pride Weekend because he was skittish about gay men possibly being in the crowd.
Melissa Scott, the founder of Traxx Girls (an entertainment group sponsoring the event), told the Georgia Voice that Brown cancelled his appearance (but kept his retainer fee) when he was told that some gay men would be present.
Scott also claimed she was told by Team Breezy to take a particular photo of Brown down, “because he looks a little feminine in that image, an image that he took.”
Brown, 26, took to Twitter to deny the claims.
“I wasn’t aware or informed of a show I supposedly cancelled,” he wrote Monday. “I have nothing but love and respect for the LGBT COMMUNITY.”
“The show was never confirmed by any of my people,” he tweeted. “So I apologize if the fans wanted me there.”
“I honestly wasn’t booked for the show,” he reiterated. “Hopefully in the future we can do it right. Much love LGBT.”
