
*Viola Davis is set to be recognized with the Chairman’s Award at the 57th NAACP Image Awards, which will air live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, February 28, at 8:00 PM ET on BET and CBS. In addition to this special honor, Davis is also nominated for a NAACP Image Award for her role in “G20.”
The Chairman’s Award celebrates individuals who excel in public service and use their platforms to inspire meaningful change. Davis joins a distinguished list of past honorees, including Kamala Harris, Amanda Gorman, Samuel L. Jackson, the late Congressman John Lewis, Tyler Perry, former President Barack Obama, and others.
“Viola Davis is a generational talent who has commanded audiences with her powerful and transcending performances,” said Leon W. Russell, Chair of the NAACP National Board of Directors, per the news release. “At this year’s NAACP Image Awards, we are humbled to present her with the Chairman’s Award, shining a light on her deeply impactful commitment to driving change. Through a career defined by excellence and courage, she has used her platform to work towards opportunity and equity, crafting an undeniable legacy for generations to come.”

Fans can vote for winners in select NAACP Image Award categories at www.naacpimageawards.net through February 13, 2026. The full ceremony will air live on BET and simulcast on CBS, while non-televised categories will be celebrated during the Creative Honors events on February 23-26.
