*Actor Skyh Alvester Black has taken legal action against Christian Keyes, creator of “All the Queen’s Men,” over allegations that the showrunner made defamatory statements about him.
TMZ reports that Black, who portrayed Addiction Anthony on the BET+ series, retained Marty Singer’s law firm to deliver a cease-and-desist letter to Keyes, warning him that this represents his final opportunity to resolve the matter without facing a lawsuit.
The dispute centers on a Facebook video Keyes posted last month discussing future projects within the “All the Queen’s Men” universe. During the recording, Keyes announced plans for spinoffs and prequels on a different network following BET+’s cancellation of the original series. He specifically identified Black as someone who would not receive an invitation to return for any of the productions.
Keyes stated in the video: “You don’t get to show up inebriated and brag about it, so yeah … Alvester Black won’t be back. Skyh won’t be back. He will be written out for that and other reasons.” Black’s legal team characterized these remarks as defamation, arguing Keyes made the accusations in retaliation after Black complained about alleged bullying behavior on set.
According to the legal documents, Black claims Keyes publicly berated him in front of approximately 300 cast and crew members while accusing him of being intoxicated. Keyes acknowledged displaying an “abrasive” demeanor when confronting an unidentified performer about improvising dialogue, explaining: “You’re not supposed to be adlibbing, and this is MY show, this isn’t the standup comedy hour.”
The cease-and-desist letter requires Keyes to delete his social media posts, issue a public retraction with an apology, and stop making further statements about Black. While the Facebook post has been removed, a YouTube video containing Keyes’ comments remains online.
