*Michael Jordan’s 34‑year‑old son, Marcus Jordan, told Instagram followers on Sunday that he has reached “40 days sober & counting,” sharing a workout photo, optimistic emojis, and a sushi‑and‑steak dinner to mark the milestone, The Daily Mail reports.
The update lands more than three months after his February 4 arrest in West Palm Beach, Florida. Police discovered Marcus’s Lamborghini SUV lodged on train tracks in the early morning hours and, after roadside sobriety tests, charged him with driving under the influence, resisting arrest without violence, and possession of a white powder first presumed to be cocaine.
Subsequent state lab analysis revealed the substance was ketamine, shifting the felony count from cocaine (a Schedule II drug in Florida) to ketamine (Schedule III). While still illegal, the reclassification could affect potential penalties. Jordan’s attorneys have entered not‑guilty pleas on all counts, waived his initial court appearance, and requested a jury trial; a pre‑trial conference was set for March 20.
According to the arrest report, Jordan asked officers to help push his damaged vehicle off the tracks. Police declined, and the SUV was towed. Inside the police vehicle, he became increasingly combative and began singing during the transport.
Jordan repeatedly demanded that officers play Mariah Carey songs while in custody. According to a police report obtained by TMZ Sports, after he was taken to a DUI testing facility in Orange County, Florida, officers say Jordan grew agitated over the music selection, at one point yelling, “Play some Mariah Carey up in this btch.” Authorities described him as loud, profane, and uncooperative throughout the process.

Officers also noted that he exhibited a “sarcastic, patronizing attitude,” constantly fidgeted, and grew confrontational when given commands.
The DUI punctuated a tumultuous stretch for Marcus, who split in March 2024 from reality‑TV personality Larsa Pippen after courting public attention with talk of marriage. Now, he says, the focus is on maintaining sobriety, an intention he underscored with a fitness regimen set to Drake’s “Mention Me” and a selfie tagged “in progress.”
