*Kendrick Lamar and fellow artist SZA spoke about their future in music in a new conversation for Harper’s Bazaar, with the rapper revealing that music isn’t his true calling.
“I get fulfilled sharing my experiences with the youth and allowing them to hear these stories and hear these experiences and catch up to them,” Lamar explained, NME reports.
“So to actually answer your question, it’s communication just with people in general,” he continued. “And I feel my work in music is just the start. I don’t think it’s my end goal. I know it’s not my end goal. Music is just a vessel to get me there.”
Lamar noted that he’s “curious” so that “keeps me energized,” the hip-hop star added.
“Information. I want it all. I want the resources. I wanna meet people smarter than me. I wanna talk to them. I want them to show me things,” Lamar said. “I just wanna be fulfilled with whatever this world has to offer. That shit hypes me up. Information. I’m a motherf*cking nerd for it.”

Meanwhile, Revolt reports that Lamar is planning a stadium tour after his hotly anticipated halftime performance at Super Bowl LIX in February. We reported earlier that the event will take place in New Orleans on February 9 but fans believe hometown hero Lil Wayne deserves the performance spot. Rappers Nicki Minaj, Lil Boosie, and Master P are among those who believed a local artist should have been the headliner for the show.
In a statement shared on social media, Master P wrote, “Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX… well deserved, he’s one of the hottest music artists in the world and has one of the biggest songs right now.”
He added, “As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well. He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant, and he’s a New Orleans native.”
Lil Wayne also reacted to being passed over for the halftime show, noting that he was “hurt” over the situation.
Kendrick Lamar recently won big at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, taking home eight of his 11 nominations including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Lyricist of the Year, and more.
