*Jill Scott is stepping back into the spotlight with the announcement of her sixth studio album, “To Whom This May Concern,” set for release on February 13 via The Orchard.
The project marks her first full-length studio effort in nearly ten years and is now available for pre-order. The release marks a significant creative comeback for the three-time GRAMMY Award-winning artist, actress, and poet.
At its heart, the album centers on themes of connection, shared humanity, and emotional grounding. The body of work reflects Scott’s long-standing commitment to using music as a space for inspiration, uplift, and presence. Throughout the project, her approach strikes a balance between vulnerability and intention, rooted in love, truth, and storytelling.

According to the press release, the album brings together an expansive list of collaborators from across musical landscapes. Featured artists include Ab-Soul, J.I.D., Tierra Whack, and Too $hort, while production comes from Adam Blackstone, Om’Mas Keith, DJ Premier, Camper, Andre Harris, Seige Montracity, Trombone Shorty, Eric Wortham, DW Wright, and VT Tolan. Together, the contributors help shape a project that blends soul, poetry, and lived experience.
“To Whom This May Concern” arrives following a milestone period in Scott’s career. In the past year, she celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album “Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1,” a release that earned her a Grammy Award and helped redefine modern soul music. She also completed a sold-out North American anniversary tour spanning more than 20 cities.
The album’s artwork was created by acclaimed visual artist Marcellus and played a key role in shaping the project’s emotional tone. The imagery uses color and texture to reflect the album’s musical landscape, blending poetry and melody into a unified visual statement.
Ahead of the album’s release, Scott has shared the lead single “Beautiful People,” which is now available on all streaming platforms. With more than two decades of artistic impact behind her, Jill Scott continues to expand her legacy across music, literature, film, and television, including appearances in “Why Did I Get Married?”, “Why Did I Get Married Again?”, “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency”, “Get On Up”, and “Abbott Elementary”.
