*Here’s more info about that feel good story we told you about earlier this week where Cleveland Cavaliers player Iman Shumpert helped fiancée Teyana Taylor deliver their baby girl
Shumpert is calling it “the best assist I’ve ever recorded in my life.” The delivery happened in the bathroom of their home, according to his Instagram account
And even though the baby is a girl, they named her Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. She was born on Wednesday at 6:42 a.m., after Taylor went into labor before her mid-January due date. The couple didn’t even have time to go to the hospital.
“We were indeed terrified until I finally saw her hair…then the fear left and i kinda just knew what to do! Our bathroom is forever sacred,” Shumpert wrote on Instagram. “People always tell me there is no greater gift than fatherhood and I finally understand the feeling. I’m not too proud to say I cried endless tears of joy for my first born. Thank you @teyanataylor for this gift and for turning our houses to homes, you are truly special in every aspect!”
In an “awwww” moment also captured on Instagram, Shumpert sings to his daughter:
