*Friends of Wendy Williams have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000 to help her return to Florida and regain independence amid her conservatorship.
The campaign aims to support her fight for freedom and assist her family in securing legal representation. In a recent interview, Williams denied her guardian’s claim of cognitive impairment and described her conservatorship experience as “emotional abuse.”
The GoFundMe fundraiser titled “Support Wendy Williams’ Fight for Independence” states: “A GoFundMe fundraiser is being urgently organized to assist Wendy Williams’ family in expediting her return to her rightful home in Florida.”
It continues, “For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently.”
According to the campaign, which has raised nearly $15,000 as of Friday, Wendy’s isolation in New York “has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience.”

We reported earlier that Williams is allegedly facing grave health challenges as court documents reveal the extent of her battle with early-onset dementia. The filing, submitted by her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, asserts that she has become “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” due to her condition.
Williams was diagnosed with both aphasia and dementia in May 2023, marking a decline after she was placed under legal guardianship due to her health complications.
“Aphasia, a condition affecting language and communication abilities, and frontotemporal dementia, a progressive disorder impacting behavior and cognitive functions, have already presented significant hurdles in Wendy’s life,” her team said in a statement.
Speaking to “The Breakfast Club” Thursday, Williams denied her guardian’s claim and opened up about her conservatorship.
“I am not cognitively impaired, you know what I’m saying? But I feel like I’m in prison,” Williams said. “I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s, and 70s … There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”
She also reflected on her father’s upcoming birthday.
“I am exhausted thinking about what if I can’t see my dad for his birthday. At 94, the day after that is not promised. My life is like f—ed up,” the former talk show host said.
The Blast reports that Wendy’s family has depleted their financial resources in their battle against her “unjust guardianship.” They are “in dire need of assistance to secure legal representation.”
“Legal services can be prohibitively expensive, and without our support, they may struggle to navigate the complexities of the situation,” per the GoFundMe description.
