Ingredients For Mustard Fried Chicken:
1/2 dried sage
2 tsp poultry seasoning
3/4 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt
1/3 cup yellow mustard
4 cups of AP flour
2 to 3 quarts of vegetable oil
Method:
- Fill a Dutch oven halfway with vegetable oil and place over high heat.
- Season the chicken with dry spices (sage, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning). Then, coat the chicken with mustard.
- Next, dredge all the chicken in the flour. Place chicken in oil and allow to cook for 10 to 15 minutes until chicken is golden brown.
- Remove from the oil and set aside on a tray with a draining rack.

Tamar’s Dutch Oven Fried Cabbage Ingredients:
1 medium head of cabbage (sliced)
1 lb. of turkey bacon cut into one-inch pieces
1 medium onion diced
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Pinch cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Method:
- Place Dutch oven over medium-high heat and coat with olive oil.
- Add the turkey bacon and onions, mix well, and allow to cook down for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Next, add your sliced cabbage to the pot. Mix well, making sure the turkey bacon and onions are evenly mixed into the cabbage.
- Season with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Mix well. Allow cabbage to cook down for 5 to 10 minutes until tender, then serve along with chicken and biscuits.
Ms. E’s Cast Iron Fried Cabbage Ingredients:
1 lb. of smoked pork bacon cut into one-inch pieces
1 medium sliced red onion
1 medium diced green bell pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Method:
- Place a cast iron pan over medium-high heat.
- Add the pork bacon, onions, and peppers to the pan, mix well, and allow to cook down for 2-3 minutes.
- Next, add your sliced cabbage to the pot. Mix well, making sure the bacon, onions, and peppers are evenly mixed into the cabbage.
- Season with salt and pepper and mix well. Allow cabbage to cook down for 3 to 5 minutes until tender, then serve along with chicken and biscuits.

Ingredients For Big Boy Butter Milk Biscuits:
2 cups of self-rising flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick of butter (softened)
1 cup buttermilk
Method:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pour flour in a bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 cup of sugar, and mix well.
- Add the butter to the bowl and flour mixture and mix flour and butter together until it’s evenly mixed. (The mixture will have a clumpy/chunky consistency.)
- Next, add half of the buttermilk and mix well until the batter becomes doughy and consistency.
- Form dough into 3-inch biscuits, place on the parchment-paper-lined tray, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
