*Wendy Williams has opened up about her dementia diagnosis, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and support she’s received.

However, amidst her acknowledgment of the support, she notably skirts around the medical/mental issue that many are eager to hear about.

In a statement released on Friday (02-23-24), the former talk show host, who has been largely absent from the public eye due to personal challenges, addressed her recent diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), as relayed by her team. She expressed profound appreciation for the overwhelming response she has received since sharing her health struggles with the public.

“I want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming,” Williams shared.

“While I continue to need personal space and peace to thrive, please just know that your positivity and encouragement are deeply appreciated,” the former TV host concluded.

Despite Williams’ direct communication about her health, public curiosity remains focused on her whereabouts and well-being amidst reports of turmoil surrounding her personal affairs.

The upcoming Lifetime documentary (“Where is Wendy Williams?“) sheds light on Wendy Williams’ apparent struggles, hinting at underlying tensions between her management team and her family. Reports indicate a contentious situation, with a purported guardian for her attempting to halt the documentary’s release through legal action, albeit unsuccessfully for the time being, as it is set to premiere tonight at 8pm e/p (on Lifetime).
