*The video has surfaced showing a contentious incident involving Hall of Fame Broncos running back Terrell Davis on a plane.
The footage, released by Davis’ attorney Parker Stinar, shows an FBI agent leaning over to handcuff Davis, who is seated and wearing a beige hoodie and gray hat.
As we reported earlier, Davis turned to social media last week to explain why he was handcuffed in front of his kids and escorted off a recent United flight.
In an Instagram post, the former NFLer explained that he was traveling from Denver to John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California, with his wife and three children. When his son asked for a cup of ice during beverage service, the flight attendant didn’t respond.
Davis said he “calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped his arm.” The attendant shouted, “Don’t hit me,” and left the beverage cart to “hurriedly approach the front of the plane,” the two-time Super Bowl champion wrote.
“I was confused, as were passengers in front of me who witnessed the exchange,” Davis added.
Upon landing, the pilot requested that all passengers remain seated. Six FBI and law enforcement agents then boarded the plane and handcuffed Davis.
“I was then removed from the flight while being recorded by multiple passengers as I was paraded off of the plane in handcuffs by the officers,” Davis shared on IG. “I was − and remain − humiliated, embarrassed, powerless and angry.”
He was questioned by authorities who determined that “this flight attendant was inaccurate in his accusations and the agents profusely apologized even offering to support me and my family in any way possible,” Davis added.
In his July 15 via an Instagram post, Davis said he felt “demoralized” and “embarrassed, humiliated.”
“I felt like my dignity was stripped from me right in front of my children and my family. And I want United to be held accountable,” he shared.
The two-time Super Bowl champion is now suing United Airlines, the New York Post reports.
“I refuse to stand by without speaking out on this disgusting display of injustice and deplorable treatment by United Airlines,” Davis said. “These lies and the ensuing events have the capacity to tarnish the reputation I have spent decades building, and this person should not be able to do this again to anyone in the future.”
In a statement, his attorney said, “This video confirms the harrowing tale of multiple law enforcement agents, including the FBI, boarding the plane and apprehending a shocked, terrified, humiliated, and compliant Mr. Davis in front of his wife, Tamiko, minor children, and more than one hundred passengers. The rationale behind the United Airlines employee’s deceitful or inaccurate report extends far beyond a mere ice request or innocent tap on the shoulder.”
