Tiffany Haddish Paints Mystery ‘Not Drinking’ Because She’s ‘Trying to Get Pregnant’

*Is she or isn’t she? That’s the question, as Tiffany Haddish opted for sober status with motivations of “trying to get pregnant.

Co-hosting Elton John’s star-studded AIDS Foundation Oscar party, the “Girls Trip” fixture was noticeably avoiding the good stuff. When asked about her anti-booze mind state at the annual event, an attendee revealed to Page Six that Haddish simply answered, “I am trying to get pregnant.”

Although it is unclear whether the funny woman’s response was her comedic way of dealing with scrutiny surrounding her sobriety after being arrested late last year for a DUI, another source mentioned that “It didn’t feel like [she was joking]. She said it numerous times.”

Countering the claim, Page Six noted comments from a source close to Haddish. According to the Haddish source, the “Back on the Strip” entertainer’s reply “was likely a joke,” despite her desire to be a mother.

“She is serious about her sobriety,” the source confessed to Page Six. “She’s kept it, and is very into her health right now. She’s going through her changes and is doing amazing.”

Whether Haddish was truthful remains up in the air. At this time, there is no official word from her rep on the situation.

In the meanwhile, the word about Haddish’s appearance at the Oscar party was a good one. Along with “The Last O.G.” star, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka assumed co-hosting duties at the event, which drew the likes of Heidi Klum, Patricia Arquette, Tim Allen, Jane Seymour, Michaela Jae Rodriguez, Mario Cantone and Sandra Lee, among others. More than $10.8 million was raised to help John’s foundation.

“She was having the time of her life!” another source shared with Page Six about Haddish, who “bid on nearly everything in the auction.”

“She was jovial and hilarious,” the source added. “She was the bright light in the room, making fun of herself and her dress. She ruled that room.”
