Now you Know – Shannon Sharpe is Earning SIX Figures from Katt Williams Interview!

*Shannon Sharpe’s Katt Williams interview on his “Club Shay Shay” podcast on YouTube reportedly netted about $660,000, so far.

We reported that the bombshell interview garnered over 46 million views in 10 days across social media and over a million audio downloads. Sharpe’s social media following also significantly increased due to “The Katt Williams Effect.”

The interview is now at 55 million views, The Root reports. According to the outlet, Sharpe has earned over half a million dollars (and counting) via YouTube’s revenue-sharing program.

Sharpe recently hit up Twitter to highlight the reach of the Jan. 3 interview (watch it here in case you missed it). He captioned the post with a direct quote from Katt, who said at the top of their conversation: “Club Shay Shay is going to be in a dimension it’s never been. The greatest thing floating in 2024. Mark the words. In a whole different realm of business. Oprah coming next! Once I establish this as a place of truth, oh yeah. Watch! God’s people ain’t that few.”

During the interview, Williams slammed fellow comedians, such as Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, Tiffany Haddish, Rickey Smiley, and Kevin Hart.

Sharpe told The Root he had no idea the nearly 3-hour interview would unfold as it did.

“I figured he’d go one or two minutes and get right to it,” Sharpe said. “He goes for 30 minutes. Now, I gotta make a decision: Do I cut him off and get back to our normally scheduled programming, or do I let him go? I let him go.”

After the interview wrapped, Sharpe’s producer, Christian “C.J.” Dear, predicted it would break the internet.

“I said, ‘You really you think so?’ He said ‘they’re gonnaa be taking about this all of 2024. Shannon, you don’t know what you just did,’” Sharpe explained.

As The Root reports, the Sharpe/Williams interview garnered 2.5 million views on the day it debuted. The next day, reached 14 million.

“I called C.J. and he said, ‘Shannon I told you,’” Sharpe said. “I asked him ‘How many views you think it’ll do?’ He said ’50.’ I said ‘50 what? 50 million?!?’”

Sharpe continues to face criticism over how he seemingly allowed Williams to take over the conversation.

“What I found out is if you let people feel comfortable with you, they will share things they probably never shared or they haven’t shared in a very long time,” he told The Root. “So your listener is probably gonna be hearing it for the first time.”

“I’m sure there are a lotta people saying ‘you shoulda did this’ or ‘you shoulda did that,’ but they aren’t mad I let [Williams] go…they’re mad it’s at almost 55 million views and it’s not on their platform,” Sharpe continued.

“People stop me wherever I am…people you wouldn’t think watch ‘Club Shay Shay,’” he said. “I’m talking about older white men, older white women coming up to say, ‘I just wanna thank you.’”
